Cet album propose à la fois un hommage au plus célèbre discours du Dr Martin Luther King et un rappel de l'histoire du "peuple originel" du blues, ces afro-américains qui ont créé cette musique considérée aujourd'hui comme un trésor du patrimoine mondial. C'est un disque volontairement dépouillé, habité par l'âme du blues. Les amis d'Eric Bibb sont cependant nombreux à s'être déplacés pour apporter leur contribution personnelle.
